Equipment supply and installation

New and replacement dental equipment, surgery installations and plant-room changes, planned from site survey to handover with the electrical supplies and building services considered alongside the equipment.

Who this is for

For practices opening, adding a surgery, refurbishing, replacing equipment or relocating, who want the engineering side surveyed and agreed before anything is ordered.

Installations go wrong at the edges: the compressor that does not fit the plant room, the chair whose services come up in the wrong place, the delivery that arrives before the electrician. Because Dynamo Dental sits within an electrical engineering business, the equipment and the infrastructure it needs are planned together, so those edges are dealt with before anything is ordered.

Dynamo Dental surveys the site, plans the work, coordinates the equipment and the other contractors, installs and connects the equipment, carries out functional checks and hands over with the record you will need to service it. Electrical work is carried out by Electrigent Ltd within the confirmed scope. Manufacturer commissioning where the manufacturer requires it, building, plumbing and specialist work stay with the people responsible for them, agreed in writing at the start.

Step by step

From first discussion to handover

  1. Initial discussion

What you want to achieve, which rooms are involved and what equipment you have in mind, if any.

  2. Site survey

Dimensions, the delivery route, fixings, the floor, and the electrical, air, water, drainage and suction services present.

  3. Space and access checks

Whether the equipment fits the room and the plant space, and can get in: doors, corridors, stairs and lifts.

  4. Equipment and utility requirements

The supplies, connections, ventilation and clearances the chosen equipment needs, set out for the other contractors.

  5. Defined scope and responsibilities

Who does what, in writing: Dynamo Dental, Electrigent Ltd for the electrical work, the manufacturer and the other trades.

  6. Equipment and contractor coordination

Delivery, access and sequence agreed with the supplier and the other contractors around your sessions.

  7. Installation

The equipment is positioned, fixed, connected and set up within the confirmed scope.

  8. Functional checks

Each function tested and a first-use check with the clinical team. Manufacturer commissioning where the manufacturer requires it is coordinated.

  9. Handover

Operating information, the installation record, manufacturer documentation and the certificates received from the other contractors.

  10. Future servicing and maintenance

The asset enters your register with its first service date, and can join DynamoCare if you want it to.

Replacing rather than repairing? Plan equipment replacement

What we do

  • Survey the site: dimensions, access, fixings and the services present
  • Set out the equipment and utility requirements for the other contractors to work to
  • Define the scope and who is responsible for what, in writing, before work starts
  • Coordinate delivery, the supplier and the other contractors around your sessions
  • Install, connect and set up the equipment within the confirmed scope
  • Carry out functional checks, hand over, and set the first service date

What you receive afterwards

A clear record of what was done, what needs attention and what is due next.

  • A site survey note: measurements, access, services present and enabling work required
  • Equipment and utility requirements for the other contractors to work to
  • A written scope stating who is responsible for what
  • An installation record: model and serial, connections, settings, functional checks and the first service date

Need supply and installation?

Tell us the equipment and what it is doing. We will tell you what we can do and what it is likely to involve.

More about supply and installation

Common problems we investigate
  • A new practice or an additional surgery needs equipment chosen, positioned and connected
  • A refurbishment will change where services run and equipment sits
  • An ageing chair, compressor or suction plant is due for replacement
  • Equipment is being relocated between rooms or premises
What is included, and what is not

Outside this service

  • Building, structural, plumbing, drainage, ventilation and decoration work
  • Manufacturer commissioning where the manufacturer requires it: coordinated, not carried out by us
  • Statutory pressure-system examinations, validation, radiation-related work and other specialist examinations
  • Support for a model is confirmed for the specific equipment; we do not claim dealer status or manufacturer relationships

Included

  • Site survey and utility requirements
  • Independent selection advice
  • Contractor coordination
  • Installation, connection and setup within the confirmed scope
  • Functional checks, handover and the installation record

An installation record shows what was installed, how it was connected and what was tested. It does not replace the certificates other contractors issue for their own work, which the practice should keep with the asset record.

In more technical detail

What the survey considers

Equipment dimensions and delivery access; mounting and floor requirements; electrical supplies and isolation; compressed air, water, drainage and suction; ventilation, noise and heat rejection; plant-room access; the manufacturer's requirements; access for future maintenance; and the interfaces with the other contractors.

Questions

Questions about supply and installation

Do you supply the equipment, or just install it?

Either. We advise independently, can coordinate supply, and install equipment you have already chosen. Support for a model is confirmed for the specific equipment.

Who does the electrical work?

Electrigent Ltd, of which Dynamo Dental is a division, within the confirmed scope. The fixed installation, any new circuit and its certificate are electrical work; we set out the requirements the equipment needs and file the certificate with the asset record.

What do we receive at handover?

An installation record with the model and serial, the connections made, settings and functional checks; the manufacturer documentation; operating guidance; and the first service due date.
